Are you an undergraduate or post-graduate student of an architecture school? Or secondary school student with an interest in the architecture profession? Then this membership category is right for you. This membership category was created to promote communication among all architects and future architects. Individuals must not be otherwise eligible for membership in AIA Central Illinois

JOIN THE AIA ILLINOIS TEAM - State Level


Allied Member of AIA Illinois
Allied members are employed outside of traditional architectural practice, but are involved in positions allied to the field. They have an established professional reputation, and include engineers, planners, landscape architects, and those involved in manufacturing or industry. Allied Members also include those employed by firms in the construction industry who are engaged in research, design, development, testing, manufacturing, distribution, or training. Membership Categories

Architect Member (AIA)
Individuals with an architectural license from a U.S. licensing authority are eligible for Architect membership.

Associate Member (Assoc. AIA)
Associate AIA membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria:

    • Professional degree in architecture ( Recent graduate information )

    • Currently work under the supervision of an architect

    • Currently enrolled in the Intern Development Program (IDP) and working toward licensure

    • Faculty member in a university program in architecture

Individuals who have an architecture license or equivalent from a non-U.S. licensing authority are eligible for International Associate membership.

Individuals who do not hold a degree in architecture but share a special interest in the built environment as a professional colleague or enthusiast.
